On 17 June 2026, exhibitions by Vladimir Jovanovski and Viktor Trajkovski, members of Photo Club Kumanovo, opened in the events hall of Zarasai District Municipality Public Library in Lithuania. The displays, on view until 7 August, presented Macedonian photography through two distinct and clearly developed artistic approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit was initiated by Lithuanian photographer Normant\u0117 Ribokait\u0117 and Alvydas Stauskas, director of the Dusetos Art Gallery Cultural Centre. During the opening, with interpretation by Simona Burokait\u0117, the artists spoke about their work, their photographic process, and the stories and circumstances behind some of the exhibited images, followed by a conversation with the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viktor Trajkovski, born in 1977 in M\u00fcnster, Germany, lives in Kumanovo and has spent more than a decade developing his voice in street photography. In Zarasai he presented \u201cStreet Life\u201d, a colour series created on the streets of different European cities. His photographs are not passive records of chance. He carefully chooses his position, anticipates the scene, and waits for colour, movement, and human gesture to converge into a compact visual story. The frame remains faithful to the encountered moment, with minimal post-processing, layered composition, and understated humour. He cites Alex Webb as an important influence, particularly for his use of colour and multi-layered composition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vladimir Jovanovski, born in Kumanovo in 1983, has been involved in art photography since his youth. He is president of the International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP), director of the Malinski Photo Festival, and holder of several international photographic distinctions, including M IAAP, MPSA, and GPU HERMES. Alongside his organisational work, his artistic practice has developed through long-term and increasingly clearly defined thematic bodies of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His photography directs attention to the relationship between people, their surroundings, light, and emotion. Rather than leaving an individual frame as an isolated impression, Jovanovski places it within a broader visual narrative in which human presence carries atmosphere and meaning. This approach gives documentary observation a poetic and thematic coherence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shown in the same exhibition space, the work of the two photographers offered two different strategies: the patiently constructed spontaneity of Trajkovski\u2019s street frame and Jovanovski\u2019s thematic, human-centred visual narrative. Their presence in Zarasai and direct exchange with the Lithuanian audience marked another international presentation of work by members of Photo Club Kumanovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
