On 16 July 2026, a joint exhibition by Photo Club Kumanovo members Naum Cvetkovski and Stefan Kocevski opened at “Ministerstvo” in Kumanovo. The display brought together two different areas of their photographic work: black-and-white concert photography and colour portrait and studio photography.
Stefan Kocevski presented photographs created during live performances. His approach requires close observation and a quick response to what unfolds on stage. Light, movement, gestures, and the performers’ expressions are captured in moments that cannot be arranged or repeated in advance. The black-and-white presentation directs attention to the relationship between light and shadow and to the energy of the performance.
Naum Cvetkovski presented colour portrait and studio photography. In his approach, composition, pose, light, and colour are carefully balanced within the frame. In contrast to the changing rhythm of a concert, the studio setting allows him to build the photograph step by step, with greater control over the relationship between the person, the space, and the colour.
Placed alongside one another, the two bodies of work demonstrate how differently photographers can approach an image. Stefan discovers the frame while the event is unfolding; Naum carefully creates it in front of the camera. The spontaneous concert moment and the considered studio image complement each other and give the exhibition a clear visual rhythm.
Club members and friends, photographers, and art lovers attended the opening. Visitors viewed the works and spoke with the two photographers.
Congratulations to Naum and Stefan, and thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening.
