solo exhibition of the photographer Kosta Dupchinov – “nostalgia part two”

The second solo exhibition of photographer Kosta Dupchinov, titled ‘Nostalgia Second Part,’ will focus on old crafts. The exhibition is scheduled to open on Monday at 19:00 at the House of Crafts in Kumanovo. Featuring 34 photographs printed on photographic canvas, it serves as a thematic continuation of his first exhibition, ‘Nostalgia,’ held in 2017.

The photo collection comprises moments and emotions captured through artistic photography, featuring portraits of heroes from a bygone era, craftsmen, and their works. As time passes, their works and crafts remain timeless, evoking a nostalgic reflection on the past. These crafts, once instrumental to many communities throughout history, provided immeasurable service to people. Unfortunately, they are fading in our modern world, as lamented by the exhibition organizer.

Kosta Dupchinov, born in 1985 in Bitola, is a graduate of the Technical Faculty in Bitola, specializing in Informatics and Computer Technology. Currently in his third year of postgraduate studies at the JNU Film Institute, Ohrid Film Academy, focusing on Cinematography, Dupchinov developed a passion for photography from an early age, inspired by his grandfather’s involvement in taking and developing photos.

Professionally active since 2006, Dupchinov has worked as a photographer in a Bitola-based photo studio. During this period, he also served as a cameraman for Channel 5 television. In 2011, as one of the founders of Photocinema Club Bitola, he embarked on the journey of participating in international and state exhibitions. With over 70 exhibitions under his belt, Dupchinov has earned approximately 20 awards and recognitions for his outstanding work.

For several years, his photographs have been integral to the collection representing the country at the FIAP World Cup of Photography.

The exhibition is organized with the generous support of Photo Club Kumanovo, the National Photo Union, and the Foundation for Culture and Sports in Kumanovo.
