On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 11 a.m., a retrospective exhibition of Dusko Jovanovski will be held in the premises of the National Museum – Sv. Nikole, under the auspices of the National Photo Union, Photo Club Kumanovo, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia.
Dusko Jovanovski, born in 1949, KM FSJ, was a passionate photographer. In 1967, he entered the world of photography with the photo titled ‘Expectation.’ Over the next decade, the captivating allure of photography became a challenge and inspiration for him, evolving into a creative hobby in artistic photography. In his quest for visual identity, he captured numerous photos with visual-expressive value and emphasized aesthetics, where the moment, emotion, and symbolism conveyed subtle messages that captivated interest and attention.
Participating in numerous exhibitions, he achieved visible results, earning him the title of Candidate-Master of Yugoslav photography in 1977 in Zagreb, recognizing his reputation and level of aesthetic expression. Serving as a selector or member of jury-commissions, he contributed to various club, state, and international photography exhibitions. While he ceased exhibiting his photographs at the end of the seventies, he remained an active member of the Photo Union of Macedonia, serving as an open interlocutor for younger authors emerging in Macedonian photography.
In recent years, Jovanovski returned to photography, dedicating his efforts to the digitization of his photos to make them accessible to everyone. Occasionally, he exhibited at events organized by Photo Club ‘Kumanovo.’ Residing in Kumanovo, he was an honorary member of Photo-cinema club ‘Kozjak’ and Photo Club ‘Kumanovo.’ Unfortunately, he passed away in 2021 in Kumanovo.
